Hearing Testing, evaualtions for Audiology Service Associates

At Audiology Service Associates our customers come first. Our customer relationships are founded upon our business ethic, which provides the highest possible standard of service with uncompromising integrity.

Our customers include persons requiring audiological services as well as patients referred from family physicians and Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, whom we work closely with to provide and maintain a standard of excellence in hearing health care.

We use state-of-the-art equipment to provide hearing screening services designed to evaluate the potential or possible existence of a hearing problem. Our screening services include telescopic examinations, pure tone air thresholds, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory evoked brain stem response testing.

Close to 30 million North Americans have impaired hearing. It is especially prevalent among those who are 60 years old or older (30 %), and the numbers are increasing steadily in the younger population. According to a 1990 report from the National Center for Health Statistics, hearing impairment is the third most common chronic problem affecting the aging population and one of the least diagnosed.

Ideally, everyone should be screened periodically. Certainly, screening is important for the following individuals:

  • Every one who answers "yes" to any question on the Self-Hearing Test
  • Others who may be at high risk (e.g. all patients over 50 years of age or those with heart disease, excessive exposure to noise, AIDS, kidney aliments, diabetes mellitus, and ototoxic drug use)
  • Each year for children functioning at a developmental level of three years through Grade 3 and for any high- risk children including those above Grade 3
  • Individuals who manifest symptoms during their visit to your office.

If you think you need a hearing screening contact a licensed audiologist or your family physician for appointment.
